Borough Market

Don't view this post if you are hungry!

Borough Market is London's largest foodie market. The selection there is absolutely insane! Mish and I used to frequent the isles at least once a fortnight, and I feel a moral obligation to at least share our experience in pictures........hope you enjoy.

Night in Paris

On a rainy afternoon in Sydney, feeling trapped at home by the weather and kind of uninspired by anything Sydney has to offer, I thought of Paris.

Wishing Mish & I could just walk out the door, and end up in Le Marais........stop for dinner at cafe Equinox, and just roam the streets for the rest of the night. Next time around, I'd like to spend the whole night out, walking each boulevard and side street, taking hundreds and thousands of photos, until the first bakery opens up in the morning and the baguettes comes calling......

Thailand Street Photography

In between groomsmen duties for my friends' wedding in Pattaya back in December, I set off to check out one of the local streets with authentic restaurants and faces. The reality of life is very different to what the travel mags portray and you know what, I like it more this way! I associate a lot of sounds, smells and flavours with these photos, and I hope you do too when browsing through. Here is an authentic taste of Pattaya, Thailand.

Montresoir - France

Montresoir, a chance discovery hidden in the Loire Valley, France. This quaint, croissant smelling little country town was deserted (all the locals were asleep at the time) and absolutely breathtaking. My wife (fiance at the time) and I spent almost the whole day walking the streets, exploring every possible crack in the wall, capturing the little neighbourhood and the breathtaking Chetau that overlooked the whole city. For the first time in our lives, we were on top of the world and fell madly in love with France.

Jervis Bay

This week I went away to Jervis Bay with my wife and the inlaws. It rained most of the time, and looked like I may not get the chance to go out for a shoot. On the second last morning though, I thought I'd take a chance.

It was pitch black and raining at 4am when I left the house, but the heavens opened up, and I think the results were worth while.

With some of the shots taken before the sun broke the horizon, the shutter was open for over 4 minutes, and the colours that the 24-105mm lens was able to capture are quite vivid. With those shots I also got to experiment with light painting for the first time (to illuminate the rocks and water in the foreground).

I was shooting at Hyams Beach, which boasts the whitest sand in the whole world, and I hope the last photo does it some justice. These shots do still leave me with a feeling that I am missing an ultra wide angle lens, and I will invest in one soon.
